Please note: The counts come from the public vehicle register of the RDW, the Dutch vehicle authority, and are updated every week. We count vehicles with a Dutch number plate that have not been exported. They are about vehicles, not about their owners.
How it works
Is anyone else driving exactly the same car? Enter a Dutch number plate to see how many vehicles of the same make and model are registered in the Netherlands, and how many of those are from the same year and in the same colour.
We count every vehicle in the public vehicle register of the RDW, the Dutch vehicle authority, except the exported ones. We do this again every week, when we fetch the register. We count per kind of vehicle, such as car, motorbike or trailer, per make and per model name as the RDW records it.
The year is the year of first registration, also when that was outside the Netherlands. The colour is the first colour in the register. The rank compares the make and the model with all others of the same kind.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the same model listed under different names?
The RDW records the model name as the manufacturer or importer gives it. The same car can appear under several names, such as GOLF and GOLF VARIANT. We count per name.
Are exported cars counted?
No. A vehicle that has been exported is left out. If the vehicle of the number plate itself has been exported, you see how many are left.
What do you do with the number plate?
We only use it to look up the make, model, year and colour. We don't store it. The counts are about vehicles, not about their owners.
