Dutch Fuel Price on a Date
Look up the average Dutch pump price of gasoline (Euro95), diesel or LPG on a date since 2006, and see how much more or less it costs now. Also in today's money.
Pick a date from January 1, 2006 to see the average Dutch pump price of that day, next to the price now.
Please note: The prices are national averages from Statistics Netherlands (CBS): pump prices per day in the Netherlands, including excise duty and VAT. What you paid yourself depends on the station and the moment.
How it works
What did a liter of fuel cost in the Netherlands on a given day? Pick a date and a fuel. You see the average Dutch pump price of that day, the price now, the difference, and what the price of then is in today's money.
The prices are the average pump prices per day in the Netherlands from Statistics Netherlands (CBS), based on data from Travelcard BV, including excise duty and VAT. If there is no price for the day you pick, we take the last day before it.
For today's money we use the consumer price index of CBS: the price of then times the index of the latest month, divided by the index of the month of then. The difference after inflation shows whether fuel rose faster or slower than prices in general.
Frequently asked questions
Why only from 2006?
CBS publishes average pump prices per day from January 1, 2006. Before that there are only advisory prices of the oil companies, which are a different price that we don't mix in here.
Has fuel become more expensive after inflation?
That depends on the date you compare with. The line Difference with now, after inflation shows it for your date.
Do you store what I enter?
No. We only use the date and fuel for this lookup and don't store them.
