Which Dutch municipality has the most public charging points for electric cars, and how does yours compare? See every municipality ranked, per 1,000 inhabitants, per 1,000 cars or in numbers.

The charging points come from the operators through the NDW, the Dutch national access point for road traffic data (DOT-NL). We count the public locations and their points per municipality; a location reported more than once at one spot counts once. A fast charging location has at least one point of 50 kW or more.

Inhabitants and cars come from the regional key figures of CBS, the Dutch statistics office, with the newest year available. Cars count at the address of their owner, so lease cars count in the municipality of the lease company. That is why the order per 1,000 inhabitants comes first.

Frequently asked questions

Do chargers at people's homes count?

No. Only public charging points that the operator reports to the NDW, such as on the street, at shops and in car parks.

How often are the figures updated?

The charging points every month, the inhabitants and cars when CBS has new figures. The date is shown with the figures.
